The Babolat Viper Soft Juan Lebrón 3.1 takes the Viper's attacking shape and makes it far kinder to live with. Same diamond head and head-heavy balance, but the face is Soft Carbon (a lighter, more flexible twill weave) over a Black EVA core, so the ball stays on the face a touch longer and the impact feels smooth rather than harsh.
It still hits big. Overheads carry plenty of weight, volleys are quick and the 3D Spin texture gives you bite on viboras and slice. Where it wins over the standard Viper is margin: off-centre hits don't die, defending from the back glass is easier to control, and there's a lot less shock through the arm and shoulder over a long session.
Who it's for: strong intermediates and advanced players who attack a lot but find a fully hard racket too demanding, or who've had a sore elbow from one. Also a good shout if you play several times a week and want power that's sustainable.
Our honest take: for most club attackers this is the smarter pick than the standard Viper. You give up a little raw stiffness and gain a lot of comfort and forgiveness. If you're newer to diamond shapes, the Veron is cheaper and easier still.
