Is it your racket?

We'd rather you buy the right one than this one.

You'll love it if

  • you live for the smash and like finishing points at the net
  • you want a stiff, crisp feel on contact
  • you hit two-handed backhands and want the longer handle

Maybe not if

  • you're a beginner, a round, softer racket is kinder
  • you want control over power, look at the Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem
  • you've had arm or elbow trouble, try a softer, lower-balance racket

The NOX Ventus Attack 12K Xtrem 2027 is Aimar Goñi's racket for the new season, and the follow-up to last year's EA10 Ventus Attack. It's built for one job: finishing points. A diamond shape, a high balance and a medium-hard feel put the weight up in the head where it does the most damage overhead.

The big change is the handle. It's an Oversize grip that's 30mm longer than standard, which gives you room for two-handed backhands and pushes the balance further towards the head for extra inertia on the smash. The faces are 12K Alum XTREM carbon, mixing rectangular and square weaves for a stiffer, crisper hitting surface, over an MLD Black EVA core that still gives you some ball exit on slower shots.

Comfort gets a proper upgrade too. The new VCS anti-vibration system lines the inside of the handle with an elastomer layer, and NOX say it cuts impact on the wrist by up to 56% compared with the previous model. The Dual Spin face (3D texture plus silica sand) bites on the ball for kick smashes and slice, and the Weight Balance system takes 2g and 4g counterweights (up to 8g) so you can tune the balance to your game.

Our honest take: this is a racket for confident, attacking players with good technique. If you want the same 12K Xtrem build with more control and a friendlier sweet spot, the Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem is the better pick.
